These are then aged (matured) in a combination of American oak, sherry and double charred bourbon casks. Charring is an age old method for invigorating barrels to intensify the taste. The resulting whiskey has a sweet and smooth taste, with a richer flavour than that of the regular Jameson. This is balanced with nutty, spice and vanilla
